I hesitated to add my 2 cents, because my circumstances are different from what I expect you have. However, I decided add my input, with caveats. Realize, 1) I don't have to deal with Waterhemp; and 2) I don't have to deal with Palmer. Having said that.... I look for two criteria when to respray soybeans: 1) I want to see soybeans at the 4th Trifoliate stage or more; and 2) I want to see soybeans in 50% canopy - in 15" or 7" rows. (That criteria doesn't work as well for 30" beans.) If I start to see weed pressure before either of these criteria are met, I would go ahead and spray. However, those are my criteria in my mind. I think you have a couple of choices: 1) you could wait and see, wait until you start to see weeds emerge, then spray your program. 2) you could wait another one to two weeks, until beans are a bit taller, then spray. 3) you could go ahead and spray the Warrant now, hold back the Glufosinate and Clethodim. Use them later if and when weeds emerge. IF you apply the Warrant now, that would give it time for it to get activated. There is value in that. The downside is you may need to make a another trip. 4) you could go ahead and spray Warrant and Glufosinate now. If I were to do this, I would back the Glufosinate down to the base rate.... and I don't think I would add the Clethodim now. In my situation, I would chose Option2. If I had to deal with Waterhemp, I would more likely to chose Option3. I don't believe I would apply 40 oz/acre Glufosinate on a field that is basically weed-free. |
