Why replant.
I know every situation is different. But if you have crop insurance, the way the markets are today, you'll get paid more for the bushels you don't raise than the bushels you do raise.
If you think the markets are going higher buy some paper.
Depends greatly on insurance level and the fact they are talking about Southern Illinois, not Northern Nebraska or Iowa.
Planting beans now “here” would have a ceiling of about 40 bpa. I suspect they’re still hoping for mid to upper 50’s maybe even 60.
75% coverage on a 65 APH would only guarantee 48.75 bpa and you’d still get to harvest whatever is out there. And you’d get to have the fun of trying to keep the weeds down in a crappy stand of beans.
I don’t envy the guys trying to decide what to do. It’s like trying to decide which end of the turd to pick up.
