This reminds me of a story from my grandfather. A neighbor liked to imbibe -- usually to excess. But, he'd climb up onto his horse, who knew the way home. The only problem was when he was so drunk that he fell out of the saddle. When that happened, his horse would stand along the road, waiting for him to get sober.
