scwi
I have a 1205 gladiator that i am running in the fall on corn stubble following a stock JD 608c with the choppers knives turned on and stompers. This is 240-275bu with fungicide residue and plug maybe once or twice a year where my shanks are overlapping rows on the last pass of the field or if the residue is extremely damp. You need to have the back "closing discs" set to float. There is a little lever that you move so the handle is pointing straight up and that allows the arm that the closers/wave coulters are on to jump up and out of the way if a little residue starts to build up for a second. Also i have those 2 weights bolted to the back of each row cleaner to help them cut through the mat of fodder, Idk if that's factory now or still an option but they are a necessity for corn on corn.
