Midwest

17821x - 6/23/2025 21:12 Go to the Iowa GIS server with this link: https://isugisf.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=47ac... The symbol that looks like a stack of papers is the "layers" button. Click on that and go to the "Iowa Historical Photos" section. They have the USDA photos from every decade from 1930's to present. If you turn on say the 1980's date you might need to find what is shown and turn it off. If two things are picked it shows whichever was picked first. Awesome sight but is only available for Iowa.

Agreed, that Iowa State ortho photo site is great. Looking up old country schools from the 1930's, seeing what was farmed and is now timber, looking at Lidar maps. I've spent countless hours on that site from when I found out about in class at Iowa State to now.
