East central Iowa

You're in the hospital, you have high blood pressure(in the hospital).  You have what is known as "white coat syndrome", that is you have pretty normal blood pressure when at home or other places but get to a doctors waiting room or office and it goes up.
Rather than the 120/80 it's 160/90.
So in the hospital they give you medication to lower the pressure, and it works, works too well because now your pressure is 70/40.  Then they start giving you medication to raise it back and it works, also too well and your pressure becomes 170/90.
More medication to lower.

Maybe, just believe that the person was telling you the truth and they're pressure is okay when not surrounded by nurses, doctors and medical equipment? This seems like a beginner driving a car, flooring it then hitting the brakes, you're going to damage something if you keep that up.
