Just out of curiosity, how have the fuel/acre numbers changed over the years, with equipment getting larger and larger, but GPH increasing? Are we gaining anything in this area?
Overall we were gaining until the emissions went on in the 2000s. Now equipment uses more fuel but is "greener". The 1150 engine I have at 650 states max fuel consumption under max load is something like 21 an hour.
I regularly see and hear higher numbers for less power, especially in combines. |
