No, it’s hot in the Midwest. The power generation capacity is limited. I’m getting messages from my power company asking to turn off my A/C today and tomorrow so we can keep electric rates down because they’re about to set new highs for power demand locally. (Ohio, Indiana, Michigan)

Huh? So in a peak time of energy use, it's time to shut down the energy producing aspect? Not sure i follow you.

He was disagreeing with me. But I'm guessing it's the transmission grid that can't take the power. Take Michigan as the example, the wind is blowing strong, every wind mill in MI, IL, IN, WI and Eastern IA are producing near full power. There's no capacity left on the transmission grid to take more power from Western IA to MI. They don't build transmission lines big enough to take the maximum possible production, not economical. Just like solar doesn't always use all the possible power, the panels are cheap enough that they size the inverters and infrastructure to capture the economical power only.
