Ne Nebraska
Grassland crp. They will cut you back probably 20-30% on grazing capacity and give you a payment for doing so. Have one landlord that signed up, cut me back from 110 pair to 82 pair, for a 5 month grazing season. But for the 28 pair they cut me back the govt is paying around $16,000, or almost $600/pair. The higher management level the more capacity they will let you graze. This pasture is cross fenced into 7 pieces, or else would have cut back more. In a way it’s kind of nice because even during a drought I have plenty of grass to make the full 5 months, where before it could cut it close in dry years.
