Subject: RE: How much fruit is too much???

Western Oregon
We can fruit in it's own juice or sweet fruits in just water grapes, peaches and some plums. 1/2 fill with fruit and add juice or water. We have a hot water juicer. I eat 4oz of fruit each day, usually with 2 cracker sandwich with nut butter (hazelnut, hickory or walnut) I am peanut sensitive. We have a Gravenstein apple and a Bartlett pear tree. We do not can applesauce, only sliced apples in there own juice, fresh poached apple slices for pancakes and dehydrated. Rest of tree fruit comes from the fence rows here, old varieties and crosses with homestead varieties. We make our own dried fruit (raisins, prunes, apples, pears). Just 1 serving fruit, juice or dried fruit a day. I like fresh poached apple slices on pancakes, no sugar, with some apple pie spice or just cinnamon. This morning I had 1/4 cup cottage cheese with 4 peach slices, 1/3 of a peach, home canned in water. If I don't have fruit for breakfast I will have 4 oz of juice. Especially like grapes and juice, 1/2 fill jars and add water, then can. We make apple juice and let go to cider....James
