West Central Illinois | Can always broadcast early spring and harrow in more grass seed or no till drill it in for the poorer spots. That ground would be a couple years ahead of the game for getting it back to being a farm again to graze cattle on vs. its existence now just drawing money from the government. That is compared to converting crop ground to grass anyway, my experience with that so far is you won't have "full" production until about year 4 in turning crop ground into grass, chemical residue anymore just makes it hard for cool season grasses to thrive, luckily clover doesn't seem to mind it the first year after coming out of crops so it helps pickup the slack. | |
