Western, New York | 2.5-3 is about the limit in my opinion for a 499, out of the haybines I have run I liked this machine the best. I had one and put all new sickle sections in and that was about the fastest I could go in heavy 1st cutting hay. I thought about putting some after market sickles in it but got a good deal on a discbine. As previously mentioned if you do replace sickle sections make sure you have the correct ones where the bars over lap in the center.
