Subject: CRP ground to Pasture

Southwest Iowa

Anyone ever had experience doing this?  Some of the farm looks to be excellent grass, other parts not so great.

Farm has been on the market for over a year with no one showing any interest (according to the realtor).   No terraces.  No Fences.  About 30% is 14% or greater slope, 25% is 9-14% slope.  CSR2 is 63.  Unfortunately the farm has 5 different CRP contracts.  The largest one expires in 2026 (90 acres), with the last in 2033.  Waterways and filter strips will be the last contracts to expire.

There is a well on the property, but I have not tried pumping it to see how productive it might be.  I took the lid off the well and I can see water.
