 | Stretch the heal first thing in the am before getting out of bed.  I stretch with a towel.  Towel in each hand, put leg out in front of you.  Wrap middle of towel around ball of foot, and give your heel a good stretch.  Toes should point straight up, or even back towards your chest. 
 2nd stretch I do is roll arch and heel over a can of soup.  Some folks say tennis ball.
 
 Never walk barefoot in house.
 
 I have had it 2-3 times in my life.  Very painful.
 
 I have to actively stretch and wearing these inserts must make a huge difference.  Anytime I wear different shoes pretty intense flare up.
