Coldwater, Michigan | Aqua was a very common product to apply to corn early to mid 60's in NW Indiana where I came from. It was NH3 mixed with water to a 24-0-0 analysis low pressure solution. Usually transferred from nurse tank to applicator with a vacuum type pump. The fumes were enough to burn your eyes. Good product, not as dangerous as NH3, in most cases. At that time there was not a lot of Nh3 applied in our area, nor was 28-0-0 (or 32-0-0) common in our area.
That soon changed in about 5+/- years.
We used Urea 45% in the area for dry when it became available. In our area the only 33-0-0 Ammonium Nitate I am aware of would have been some specialty product. Looked a lot like Urea and if stored in the same building with Urea had a name for occasionally Exploding!
Back to Aqua: Sometimes it was used to blend liquid fertilizer blends.
