West Central IA | If your guard edges are worn rounded and not sharp, you need to replace them. The knives will only get you so far. My Dad and his cousin bought Hesston 520 back in the day. It was used and needed new sections and guards. I converted the knife to bolt on sections but they would not change the guards. The cousin had 40 acres of brome bluegrass mix. It would not cut that stuff. Cousins son in law bought the 520 and he immediately put on new guards. No issues after that and he still cuts hay with it today. | |
