Okay that’s interesting. So after weaning you ended up with only whole corn and alfalfa going to the lambs? Do you end up bunk feeding the corn or just fill a creep feeder full or it and put the alfalfa in a hay ring?

Well - - - - if I had a bunk I would be using it - - - but I just feed using a 'wire cattle panel' (spaces are 6" x 8"). drop the corn in front of them and when they're finished eating I place parts of the alfalfa bale flakes in front of them.

That's so all the feeding is controlled.

Found that multiple feeding of corn are necessary if you want to get the maximum amount into them otherwise they tend to flop between gorging and pasty grey manure and laying on the ground in pain because of their guts.

Have heard of guys using turkey feeders for feeding lambs - - - dunno exactly how that's working out but its an idea.
