Northern Indiana | That little one needs Mother, and does not need to be in daycare. Daycare is not a healthy arrangement for children. Bravo to you both for making this choice. However, here are some things to think about: are you prepared for her to leave her job? Do you have credit card debt? Will you be able to have some sort of health insurance for your family? (if not, you could start with Midwest National Insurance. They write lots of policies for farming households, and can custom tailor them to your needs and ability to assume part of the risk.) Do you have an emergency fund? Does she have skills that will add value to the home's economy? (sewing/mending, gardening, cooking, canning and preserving, etc.) Do you have habits that have come up as a result of her working - eating out, entertainment, other services? Leaving a job and coming home does involve a transition of sorts, but it will be the most loving thing to do for your family. | |
