| I’m cutting some really good Bermuda hay. 5-6 5x6 bale stuff. Rubbing the front axle of tractor. This is an old junky swather. I’ve put new knives in it, but my guards are old. I have been replacing any I break with used ones from a parts machine. I’m having to run about 2.5-3 through this to do a good job. Question is if I had new guards how much faster could I go? I’ve never ran one of these swathers in good shape so I’m not sure what it’s capable of. Seems the spec is about 5-6 mph but I would hate to spend the money and find out it’s just slow in this kinda hay.
