Mid MO | Backes poultry in Loose Creek. Then Shady Maple near Tipton.
WhenI used Backes, I would deliver in Como on the way back. Tipton, I'd ice the birds overnight and deliver the next day.
For Turkeys, all the large accounts were delivered the day of harvest. For individuals, we had a farm day on Wed where folks picked up their bird.
When I first started, I killed all the birds myself and had a farm day the following day. That was in the days of 300/year.
I actually liked the turkeys better. They have more personality. | |
