SW Ohio | We built a new house and moved in a year and a half ago. We have hardwired interconnected smoke detectors.
Shortly after we moved in we started having false alarms, it has happened at all times of the day and night. I have been trying to eliminate ones that trigger the alarm thinking I might have a bad detector or 2, the reviews for the Kidde detectors site frequent false alarms.
It happened again a few nights ago and I decided it was the final straw. I replaced them all the next day with First alert combination smoke and carbon monoxide. These were not cheap but have good reviews.
Well today my wife calls and says the new ones are going off.
Any suggestions for where to look for the cause of these false alarms. Could there be a wiring issue? Power surge?
I'm about to throw them all in the trash and get battery ones that are not interconnected. | |
