smaller dairy farms that i know had to go organic to make it. and they have the lely robotic milkers with no outside of the family labor and they seem to be doing really well. the 2,000 hd guys seem to have rough equipment (compared to organic guys) hire hispanics who basically run the show and they dont have the automated milkers which is kind of interesting.
