North Central US | What has to happen that cattle manure produces a very strong, like burn your nose and eyes strong, ammonia smell?
Was looking at trailers and one wasn't cleaned out. No other livestock on the place besides cows and it was clear the trailer had not moved in a long time. The people said the same.
We've had the funny "hot manure" smell when we pile it, but never an ammonia smell, let alone anything that strong.
