I've had very good luck using dry cat food in live traps. I have used dog proof traps in places where my cats don't hunt. My live traps are showing their age after catching hundreds of coons, the big coons can shred the traps. I've learned to patch the torn parts with sections of a old wire corn crib. Tempted to build one out of those panels.
