There is no reason for corn to be higher. None, zippo, nada. Adequate supplies, iowa and Illinois crop ratings are 13 and 11 points higher than the 5 year average. No big negatives to historical yields. Livestock numbers are down. Until something pops up—- drought, wind, hail, flood— or something spurs demand, there is no reason to think about higher prices.
Weather will likely kill this crop a couple times before harvest—it does most years. But we might be $.50 lower before the dead cat bounce shows up. | |
