| No, feelings and emotions do not trump the law. I honestly don't know where to stand on immigration. I feel for the people wanting a better life for their kids. So did my great-granparents, and I'm sure yours also. I DO know if I was in their place if the choice was a terrible life for my kids, or break another countries laws and hope for the best. I would do the exact same thing they are doing.
Back to my original question though. What have you done for this country to DESERVE to be here? I was in the military for 9 years, but I was never deployed or shot at. Is that enough? Have any of us done enough to deserve to be here? I'm not fond of the law being broke, but I'm not without reason either. You watch what other people are willing to go through for the CHANCE to live here...I don't know about you but I don't take it for granted.
If 90% of the people coming here illegally are otherwise upstanding, hardworking people, we need to figure out a way to help them. Not throw everybody out and see what happens next. I'll be the first to admit though...I don't have the answers for how to do that fairly. | |
