I personally have had a legally drawn up healthcare directive since I've been 18 years old...taking me fishing and throwing me over the side of the boat instead of legally receiving comfort care only instead of drastic life prolonging efforts, be it at home, a nursing home, or some other medical facility depending on circumstance when my time has come to leave this world, is not part of my legally drawn up end-of-life plan.
I do however expect my family...or whoever is in charge to respect my end of life wishes that are clearly spelled out in my legally drawn up healthcare directive. |
