E.Central MN | It's naive to think that the illegals just showed up to apply for jobs at the meat packing plants, etc and those companies didn't know how they got there. They can point at how ineffective the E-Verify system is, but the truth is that they knowingly engage in programs to recruit workers from other countries. Maybe we should create a "foreign worker" tariff and tell companies they can keep their illegal foreign workers if they pay a "tariff" on each foreign worker they have. Then the CEO's of the companies that are profiting from the illegal workers could come out in the open and admit what they are doing and say what good citizens their companies are. | |
