I’m a lot farther north so it’s harder to implement some of what you’re doing because I push a longer season corn in my area to push silage tonnage vs grain corn. I think there is a good value to be had in grazing cattle on covers. If I can pull a crop and still run some livestock across the acres that should mean more net and a lot more biological diversity which I think is a good thing
I should add I am in no way an expert or have any idea what I’m doing. Just trying to listen and do what’s right. Cattle have always had a way of telling you what’s going on… I think soil is the same way. Land is and always has been a true measure of wealth… I would rather it be taken care of for the future then extract every dollar I can
