Subject: Anyone experienced with both Pro1200 and Incommand 1200/Go16?

Anyone here run both the Pro 1200 and the later gen Ag Leader displays (Incommand or Go)? Curious how they compare, particularly on the guidance front. The issue is what to do about displays on the tractors (pro 700’s).

I put an Incommand in our sprayer and it’s a huge upgrade from the Raven, but not without flaws.

Specifically looking for how the Pro 1200 compares to Ag Leader on these points:

1. Pro 700’s don’t handle boundary guidance well. Seems they just project the heading at the end-point of the boundary guidance line, so rather than drive in a big loop over and over, it’ll go until you hit that end-point and then switch to a straight line, sending you straight through the next corner (bad). Whereas Incommand 1200 will repeat the loop all day (good).

2. I make my guidance lines in SMS. When I have large curves, say pivot circles, these curved guidance lines are very smooth on the InCommand/Sprayer, it seems smart enough to anticipate all the vertices coming up. But the same line on the Pro700’s will be very jerky. Turn-straighten-turn-straighten-repeat. But that’s comparing a sprayer to articulated tractors, so not sure who to blame there.

3. The InCommand sometimes gets “tangled up” with boundary guidance. What I mean is, if I’m on a northbound line (ie east edge) and disengage autosteer, when I reengage it’ll try to grab an eastbound line instead (ie from the south edge, but several pass #s in). A bit frustrating, I have to remove the line entirely and then reload it to fix. For guys with Pro1200’s, have you ever had this issue? Just seems it doesn’t look for the pass that’s closest to the current heading.

I guess the question ultimately boils down to - is the Pro 1200 just a reskinned Pro 700 with a bit more computing power, or is it a fundamentally upgraded display that can handle modern guidance methods with boundary guidance, complex shapes etc?
