ND | That's the funny thing was told multiple times while negotiation that it can't be used or won't be used for oil extraction and knew it was the end goal. I personally called Burgums office when he was ND Governor and asked if he was for eminent domain on this project and was told if it came to that he was. I also told the lady working there if he is so for this project I know he has a few 1/4s and we would gladly trade so he could grant them easements but of course politicians don't like giving them out for nothing or don't want to on their own land. So in my mind was best to get the most money possible and they really took what im assuming is tax money and got as many easements done as they could. The interesting thing on these easements that I looked up many ended up having a clause when signed if project not started within I thought 5 years or maybe was 3 that you could basically void the easement somehow. This eminent domain is out of control along with the townships in our area taking away our deeded acres and thinking they can give easements to companies just unreal. Pretty sure when I buy property I must bid on deeded acres and why if the townships think they own it, I guess they should be responsible of upkeep but nope I am. This is ridiculous for the money it costs for everything now a days. Of course how does one fight it most don't have enough money to pay a lawyer 400+/H when the gov. uses tax money for theirs. Just look at the amount the Gov. has given for the FM diversion lawyers ha good luck fighting. | |
