Make it mandatory that he go work at another farm or other craft for at least 2 years before considering taking over the farm. He will learn different things, work for a non family member and be able to see the world through a different set of eyes. The farm will be here if he decides that is what he wants, one line thinking is what is killing today's farms imo.
