Sounds like everyone involved got lucky. Was his wife with him?

I read this to my wife and she said alzheimers without hesitation. She works with elderly and DD. I hope his insurance pays for all the damages, his insurance cancels him, and a judge revokes his license permanently.

I see similar things a few times a year on the job. The best one was when an old man and woman pulled up behind a paver. It was on an exit ramp from a major limited access highway at about midnight. The outside lane and ramp were closed off by barrels. He pushed a few barrels out of the way with his car and proceeded down the ramp until he was 6 inches from the catwalk on the back of the paver which was stretched out to about 24 feet wide. The 3 rollers behind the paver tried to block him, but he weaved around them anyway. The paver was stopped waiting on another truck so he immediately starts blowing the horn. A few of the crew were at his window at the same time yelling at him for what he had done. He said he was on his way home and didn't know any other way to get there. It took all of us to push his car backwards and off the mat. Good thing it was type 2 leveling and not surface. The crew had to rake out over 100 feet of his tracks in the asphalt. It's also a good thing the foreman was down the job a ways. A known hothead, he would have likely busted out the man's window and drug him out through it.
