It will be interesting to see if the end user spends much time bidding off of the September. The soybean processors all switched to the November this week.
It’s irrelevant which month is bid on, local basis will be adjusted to acquire demand needs.
The months that are at the very end of a crop year/ the very beginning of the next are low volume and a dangerous place to hedge. Low volume makes it difficult to get out of positions. Other than being a conduit for commercials to actually force/demand delivery, there isn’t much use for those contract months. |
