South Central MN | Always going to require someone to keep the AI in line and hold down an address and pay the tax bill.
Robots aren't cheap right now and are still going to require repairs which have a cost too. Perhaps the upfront cost of them goes down a little, or inflation catches up and makes them "cheaper" but right now what one robot can do and what a human can do is much different unless you hire that one guy with the IQ of a rock. The way I see it is they will become a tool that can reduce some of the labor required, but won't ever fully replace a human even if it comes down to 1-2 people able to manage a 10K+ acre operation year round. Only difference will be the lack of human labor for most of the tasks. | |
