These are not the folks in the packing plants who do have a citizenship problem, but are not causing crime waves or riots. You are exactly right that the legislature needs to rewrite immigration policy even if it ends "dogeing" the immigration bureaucracy. Surely there can be a stepped process, probationary periods, easily renewable visa's for folks that are working. They still need to learn the constitution and english and agree to become Americans, but that doesn't need to take years. | |
