It isn't the rain that will get you, it is the time since the bales were made. The bales are heating up right now and will cause moisture migration in the bale over the ensiling time. Be prepared to throw some parts of the bale away as it could be manure.



Yes well yes it’s the time not the moisture. Baled some hay Wednesday late afternoon early evening and when I dumped a misfit in the bale ring 26-27 hours later it was steaming what I baled wasn’t that wet and air temperature was on the cooler side and it still was getting hot. Three days I’d call a disaster.
