Suckers on corn (unless you are David Hula) are an impediment to yield. Those that “die” or are sloughed late are excellent infection points to stalk rots.

If nothing else, the tiny cob the size of your pinky finger will be sucked through the deck plates and the 8 kernels on it will be neatly spread on the ground as harvest loss. So, folks will have lots to talk about the “harvesting job”
