EC Mo | I find it a little odd all the talk of burdensome supplies of corn but never see anyone mention what carryover was projected at the beginning of the crop year and what it is projected now by USDA. Looked back to June of last year and USDA was projecting 2.102 billion bushel carryover for the 2024-2025 corn crop. All the talk of carryover being over 2 billion bu and yet exactly 1 year later it has quietly been reduced to now a projection of 1.365 billion bushel. That is a reduction of 737 million bushel, around 35% reduction from their inital estimate. That would seem pretty significant yet we still hear the same narrative of burdensome supplies and of course the old go to phrase,we aren't going to run out of corn. Now look at the carryover estimate for 2025-2026 of 1.750 billion bushel. That is 352 million lower than the initial estimate of last years crop so that doesn't appear near as bearish as we are led to believe especially if they miss the same as last years crop. History would show this to happen pretty similar each year,Just some numbers to think about and look at with your own eyes and not listen to all the bias info being thrown at us. | |
