More money will not make Americans work more.
We used to do various trucking types.
The guys hauled elevator grain ( just above break even and would run and run).
IF they hauled farm grain they would put in a decent day. ( paid costs plus a fair wage)
Then we got a steel gig hauling off the barge. VERY good money. I made more gross in a day than a week of hauling farm grain. Miles was the same as day of grain.
I set it up to take load of farm grain down, then do the steel.
After a few days the guys wouldn't do the farm grain down.
Even worse they started to go home early and take days off.
It turns out that most will only work as hard as needed to get by.
The other problem with that is I can not pick vegetables or fruit fast enough to make wages.
I assume I am not the only one.
So either food has to get a lot more costly, or I am going to get very hungry and cold if I pick crops by hand for a living.
