North Central Illinois | Organic grower here, so I cultivate a lot. I've cultivated 6 behind a 12 at times since I upgraded planters first. Only time I've had major issues with uneven pulling is when I've had to run the rotary hoe (also 12 row) in marginally too wet conditions. That'll what really packs the tire tracks.
Edit to add: I'd pick the IH 183. I don't think JD made a good cultivator until the 856.
