Alton, Ia | No, hadn't heard that story.
We never had 365's, several 325's for way too many years. Back in the late 70's, picked with a Uni System, put 1 x11's on the sides and rear of GF wagons. Kept doing it, even after the Uni was long gone. Could haul 360+ on them. Never broke a spindle. Did make the mistake of buying two 525's though. Snapped one spindle, sold them, and heard buyer did the same on Highway 75. Dang. Problem with those wasn't tire pressure, the wagon frame was wide enough if you turned even sort of tight, the tire hit it. Not good when loaded. They were clumsy wagons. 550's that replaced them here were designed much better.
When I was selling my 325's, the dealer I mentioned before, asked about them. Demco wanted a nice one for a display out front. Never heard back. Unfortunately, I still have one here, why, don't ask. I use it sometimes and impress riders when I can fill it (and more) with one dump from the combine. Mine is in much nicer shape than the one at the center in Boyden. Oh well. | |
