| I am not from a multiple generation farm but I interact with several of them everyday. I think one of the most important things a son can do is go work somewhere else for a period of time before coming home to farm to learn other skills and how to treat and interact with people.
I hope one day when my son is old enough to have the desire to take over the farm that he can and I hope that I have put together enough ground that it's worth it.
ihmanky's comments are spot on. I work a full time job and farm and often think my kids get the short end of the stick but at the end of the day I farm so that I can hopefully leave them more than I could just working in town. | |
