There is some beautiful ground around Pickford. More than anything else holding it back is the lack of tile. For the sheer fun of defying local beliefs, it would be a challenge I would enjoy to farm there. I had
never been to that area before I moved to Alpena from the Thumb of MI. I used to hear "that doesn't work here" often the first couple years we were here. I don't any more.
