Yes, over analyzing can be counter productive at times. Sometime you think you understand something. I am often guiltily of this only to find out later that I was incorrect.
My Dad got frustrated with me when I would take apart things to see how they worked or to 'fix" them. His advice was "Leave it alone as long as it sort of works". I am slowly coming around to his line of thinking.
