Mazon, IL | That’s likely over 600 miles and would take several days. The tires wouldn’t last that long. If I take the gangs off the wings I can get the width down to 10’.
My parents bought the farm in the UP in 1972 intending to retire up there but that never happened. After they passed away I ended up with the farm. I currently have a tenant that cuts it for grass hay, if you want to call it hay. Mostly quack grass with some treefoil and weeds.
I retired from farming in Illinois a few years ago when I needed to replace my combine and my kids weren’t interested in farming so couldn’t justify the expense. Most of the rest of my equipment was also about wore out. The tractor and disk are all I have left here.
I’m trying help my tenant up north. He has no tillage equipment. I built a sprayer 2 years ago so we could terminate what’s there and reseed it to Timothy hay and treefoil. | |
