Southern Wisco | A son on a dairy farm here. I went to college, had a job on a farm while I was there but still came home every weekend to work.
After I graduated I borrowed money bought a bunch of cows- went on halves with my parents. I was what you call debt propelled- had my own set of bills and milk check. In the past ten years my wife and I have transitioned into full ownership.
I wouldn’t trade those first years out of school on the farm for anything. Spent the most productive years of my life working for myself. I hope one day to have a similar transition with one of my daughters.
