If you don't like the direction Windows is heading, maybe test drive Linux Mint. I bought a $15 laptop to use as a test mule and could not believe how far Linux has come since I last tried it. Stable, user friendly, update at your discretion or not at all. Its a 'light' OS and will run on ancient hardware.
And, like you said, you don't have forced updates with M$ looking over your shoulder and putting shortcuts to Microsoft Edge on your desktop.
Only if all you do is browse the web. Good luck getting anything else to reliably run on Linux. |
