That problem could have been solved long ago by giving more work permits to needed foreign workers. This country would fall to it's knees if we eliminated the foreign workers. There would be serious shortages of food available. Very easy problem to solve. But it seems that politics get in the with rhetoric that won't work
We have 8 month work visa's for off shore labour. Easy to get and workers have good lodging/work habits .10,000 + in our county
Google Leamington or Kingsville greenhouses Mucci Farms would have at least 1,200 employees https://www.muccifarms.com/
Some don't like having "Mexicans" in town but they do the jobs Canadians won't do ...+ Many are entreperneral from food joints to excavating companies
