Quebec

You live in a failed state. You yearns to make a better life for yourself. On the other side of the border, a beacon of hope; the greatest country on earth. People have money, cars, homes, and 3 square meals a day. Opportunity and the American dream. You hear from a friend's cousin that if you can make it across the border, companies will hire you, almost no questions asked. You will make 10 times what you would staying put. You fill a backpack with basic necessities, meet up fellow dreamers in the dead of night, and give it a go.

You make it across the border and arrive in small town USA, smack dab in TexMexZona. You show up at 10am at Tyson Foods job centre. They ask you a few questions in Spanish and you are hired.

You work along side "many [that] have been in the country for years working long hours for low pay in demanding, dirty and dangerous jobs. [You] pay taxes, including Social Security taxes from which [you] will never benefit. [You] are setting down roots and having children who are [U.S. citizens]. However, because of [your] vulnerable immigration status, [you] live in shadow and fear, unable and afraid to seek protection of [your] human rights and [your] rights as workers. " source

A few years after your arrival, INS raids your work place. You manage to hide in a closet with 3 others sharing a similar background. You are one of the lucky ones. INS rounded up about 200; all deported. Some that have families with US born children that just lost their moms or dads. You show up for work the next day as if nothing happened. Tyson Foods keeps the line running full speed. You, now one of the more senior employee, go see the plant management asking that they reduce the speed of the lines; employees just can't keep up. Management gives you a 50 cent raise to shut you up.

Friday rolls around, INS agents enter the plant. Management points at you.

Edit: As timis pointed out below, it's not slavery, it is indentured servitude. You could try it out, I hear Tyson Foods is hiring.
